This pattern is in English.
The design was created two years ago and it became my favorite top for the summer. Especially on very hot summer days wearing cropped version of the top is very comfortable. The idea of the design is simple. The focus is on the front part of the top worked with short rows that give the design its name. The back of the top is open and gives the design a summery look. In the pattern you can find a cropped length version and a regular length version of the top.
The yarn combo played a significant role while creating the design. Solid pure linen yarn is knitted together with a soft blend yarn to achieve a fabric with right properties. A fabric from pure linen yarn can be transparent and stiff. A fabric from a soft blend yarn can lose the shape quick and fit not very well on a body. Together both yarns give their best to the fabric and compensate their minuses.
The top is knitted bottom up beginning with the body part knitted in Stockinette Stitch in round. The front part is shaped using German Short Rows method while the back of the design stays open. The main part is finished by knitting an edging in Garter Stitch. Finally, two straps are knitted in Garter Stitch as well and sewed on the back of the top.
This knitting pattern has an easy skill level and it is suitable for knitting beginners as well as for advanced knitters looking for a relaxing project. This design can be used to practice very first time of knitting German Short Rows method.
