REGENTROPFEN Shawl (English)

A crescent shaped dream with classic stitch pattern. Shawl Regentropfen is a minimalistic design with a special twist. With this shawl you’ll create your own Mélange color effect and bring something unique on your knitting needles.

I was knitting the sample of the design while sitting by a window and listening to rain dropping on the window board. Together with a very soft and melting alpaca yarn the rain sound made the knitting process very cozy and relaxing. This was my inspiration for the name of the shawl. Regentropfen is German and it means rain drops.

DIMENSION
208 cm / 82’’ wingspan and 51 cm / 20’’ depth

YARN
Yarn 1: 990 m / 1082 yds of a Light Fingering weight yarn.
Yarn 2: 380 m / 415 yds of a Light Fingering weight yarn.
Both are used in the pattern!

SUGGESTED YARN
Yarn 1: 4 skeins or 200 g (50 g = 250 m / 273 yds) of Baby Alpaca 10/2 (100 % alpaca) by BC Garn in color 137
Yarn 2: 3 balls or 75 g (25g = 133 m / 145 yds) of Suri Alpaka (100 % alpaca) by GGH in color 27

SUGGESTED NEEDLE
4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles with a 100 cm / 40’’ cord or any size to achieve the gauge below.
optional: 5.0 mm (US 8) needle for bind off

GAUGE (after wet blocking)
16 stitches x 30 rows in stockinette stitch with a double thread of yarn 1 and yarn 2 = 10 x 10 cm = 4 x 4''
