PARALLEL Scarf (English)

This scarf design was created as an easy to knit novice knitter project. The stitch pattern combination makes it fun to knit and quick to finish.
A knitter with knitting experience will find this project as much delightful as a novice knitter. The project will treat you with relaxed and meditative knitting hours.

Simple stitch patterns as Garter, Stockinette and Irish Moss Stitch are used for this scarf. All of them requires only knit and purl stitches to make it accessible to everyone. Knitted with big size needles and a cozy yarn this scarf will become your favorite for knitting and wearing.

CONSTRUCTION
The scarf is knitted flat from one end to the other. Beginning with Garter Stitch follows by a combo of vertical stripes in Stockinnett Stitch on Irish Moss Stitch. The design is finished with Garter Stitch. I cord edges are used for a neat look of the design.

TECHNIQUES
Following knitting techniques are required for this design

• Long Tail Cast On
• Knit stitch
• Purl stitch
• Slip stitches (see Photo-Tutorial at the end of the file)
• Classic Cast Off

420 m of a Bulky weight yarn

SUGGESTED YARN
3 balls or 300 g of The Petite Wool, we are knitters
(100% wool, 140 m – 50 g), color 100

SUGGESTAED NEEDLE SIZE
6.5 mm and 8.0 mm circular needles with an 80 cm cord or a needle size to meet the gauge below

GAUGE (after wet blocking)
14 stitches x 16 rows in Irish Moss Stitch (see pattern) on bigger needle (suggested size 8.0 mm) = 10 x 10 cm
