The design of this shawl captures the feeling of a new day beginning - light, fresh, exciting and beautiful. I call it MORGENSTUNDE that means morning hour in German.

It is a light, elegant and modern symetrical triangular shawl worked with a Lace weight yarn. The challenging Diamond Honeycomb Stitch Pattern and the shaping with several increases make a lot of fun to work. Though the stitch pattern is not trivial but it becomes familiar after working just a few row repeats. If you are looking for a challenging knitting project and a beautiful result this pattern is perfect for you.

The shawl is worked top down flat, beginning from the middle of the top with Garter Tab Cast On to the lower tip. The Diamond Honeycomb Stitch Pattern is worked with slipped stitches and shaping the diamonds by picking up the loose strands of the slipped stitches. You will find a step by step tutorial (photo and text) for creating the diamond shape. The space in the diamonds is worked with the wrong and the right side of the Stockinette Stitch. The edges are worked with the Garter Stitch. The shawl is finished with Garter-Stitch-Cast-Off Technique. You will also find a photo tutorial for this one in the pattern.
