MALOJA Cardigan (English)

MALOJA cardigan is a perfect knitwear for fall and spring time or Nordic summer days. It is a rounded neck cardigan worked with raglan top down in one piece without sewing. The front part has a zig-zag lace stitch. The back and sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch. Different stitch patterns make the knitting process more interesting and the design very modern. The cardigan is oversized and has approximately 11 cm // 4.5’’ of positive ease. It can be knitted a little bit tighter using a smaller size. This knitting pattern has an intermediate skill level and it is suitable for knitters with knitting experience. Some experience with knitting a “raglan top down” and “short rows” might be helpful but is optional.

You will need basic knitting techniques like:

• Long Tail Cast On
• Knitting and purling stitches
• Working a yarn over
• Knitting 2 stitches together
• Knitting in rounds for the sleeves (Magic Loop or with Double Pointed Needles)
• Classic Bind Off

The following special knitting techniques are shown as tutorials (photo and text) in the pattern:

• Increases with left nd right leaning
• Knitting a yarn over together with the next following stitch for the short rows (on the right and on the wrong side)
• Decreasing wit ssk
