LICHTERKETTE Sweater (English)

This pattern is in English.

The design is inspired by the cozy atmosphere we create during the dark and cold part of the year. Lighting candles, preparing hot drinks, knitting wooly items and backing cookies make late fall and winter time so enjoyable and magic. Chain of lights are my favorite to create a beautiful wintery atmosphere at home. I love them as an outside decoration as well. I always enjoy that magic mood you can see around the towns and cities created with fairy lights. The design is called LICHTERKETTE for fairy lights or chain of lights in German.

The sweater is knitted top down in one piece without sewing. First the back part is knitted flat followed by the shoulders and the front part knitted flat as well. Back and front parts are joined together later for knitting the body in round. The sleeves are knitted in round by picking up new stitches along the armhole. The neck is knitted in round by picking up new stitches along the neckline. Stockinette Stitch, Lace Stitch and Ribbing Stitch are used for this design.
