KERAMIK Shawl (English)

The design was inspired by the art of pottery, especially by handmade pottery like bowls and cups or vases. Textured pattern made of a simple stitch combination gives the shawl a special look. Just like handmade pottery items it is designed to be plain, elegant and artful. The design is at the same time easy to knit. Enjoy meditative knit process with soft and cozy yarn. With its generous dimensions this shawl will become your best friend for cold weather at home and in the nature. I call it Keramik for pottery or ceramic in German.

The shawl has a rectangular shape and it is worked flat from one end to the other. The stitch pattern is made of knitted, purled and slipped stitches. The stitch combination makes a special pattern texture to create an interesting look of the design, fun to work and easy to memorize. The borders are knitted in garter stitch. I-Cord technique is used for the edge stitches.

This knitting pattern is suitable for knitting beginners as well as for advanced knitters looking for a relaxing project.

3.0 mm (US 3) and 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles with an 80 cm / 32’’ cord or a needle size to achieve the gauge below

23 stitches x 32 rows in Textured Stitch Pattern (see pattern) on bigger needle size = 10 x 10 cm = 4 x 4 ‘’
